DoG Faced Puffer

I have a Dog Faced Puffer, I didn't know what to really feed him at first so i started feeding him minows, slightly bigger than guppies, but know i see you guys say it's no good to feed sw fish, fw fish, i feed my other fish the marine cuisine, krill, frozen food, the puffer doesn't really touch, it, if I stop feeding him feeder fish, will he start to eat the frozen foods,

He should...but you also need to feed him hard shelled foods. This is what they eat in the wild. They have a rapid growing set of teeth. If you do not feed them hard shelled foods on a regular basis the teeth will become overgrown and the fish will stop eating and die. Dropping a few small snails for hin a few times a week should keep the teeth in check.

My dogface likes krill, silversides, romaine lettuce, and the occasional bloodworm or beef heart cube. I drop frozen cockles-in-the-shell (little clams) for my trigger to spend an afternoon with, but the dogface hasn't seemed to catch on to those.
My Porcupine puffer eats frozen krill and silversides, nothing else, ever, period, forget it. And if it's the wrong brand of frozen krill, forget it.

there isnt much a puffer wont eat if it there for the taking but its proper diet is a mixture of meaty foods such as squid.shrimp(shellon)krill, silverslides,clams,muscles, crab, any type of marine meaty food occationally they will eat seaweed just cus they like to eat.I once thought it a good idea to aquascape my tank with the silk plant so my hebavores wouldnt eat them .bad idea my s&s puffer chewed them up im still picking peices out of my tank 4 yrs later.I used to restock my clean up crew every few months hermits and turbo snails he ate them as snacks.he also chewed on the cc substrate which kept his teeth filed nicely if he wasnt eating or sleeping he was chewing on the substrate.
