I got a Dogface Puffer today!
at first the trigger nipped his tail, put the puffer didnt seemed to concerned, didnt puff up or anything, just slowly swimming around everywhere havent seen any biting since then, just surprised because the trigger doesnt bother the Valentini Puffer, damsel, blenny, lol maybe hes upset they are the same size, and also every website says you can put triggers and dog face puffers together so decided it would be ok, do you think they will grow on each other? also the puffer blows the sand everywhere, i think its cool, just wondering what hes doing? I tried to distract the trigger earlier with some freeze dried krill and the dogfaced loved them, ate two, just glad hes eating already! I also picked up frozen squid, and mysis shrimp as well....also I saw my blue damsel for the first time charge my valentini puffer today, do you think this might stress him out, hes never bothered him before (I hate that little damsel!!! I tried another hour to get rid of him but no luck again! total spent 3-4hrs now)

Well, clown triggers can be very aggressive. The dogface's skin looks very "splotchy" which is a good indicator of stress. It also looks like it may have ich on its' belly from the pictures, but it could just be sand stuck to him. Just keep an eye on it and give it some time, the trigger is trying to express his dominance so he should leave the dogface alone after some time.

well this is his first day home; as far as everything else he seems fine, swimming all over, eating, so hopefully thats a good sign...thats actually bubbles on his belly, sorry should have put that, but talking about that my Valentini was sleeping on the crushed coral last night and hewoke up an had three pieces stuck to his belly, is there skin stickey/slimey?
thanks! hope everything goes well too

good to hear that he's eating and happy. just make sure your feeding him shelled foods to wear down his teeth such as shelled shrimp and clam for example.

Well the trigger and puffer are already best friends today, seems they bonded last night saw them sleeping right near each other before I woke them up. but today they swim around together and even eat well together, im gonna need to find these shelled foods quick cause he doesnt seem to like brine shrimp or mysis shrimp at all, liked squid last night, no brine this morning, so I just gave him a krill an he ate the whole thing, can you give them snails? because as posted on another thread theres clams no where to be found in the town I live in!

You can buy raw frozen shrimp with the shell and tail on, my puffer liked that a lot. And yes! They do eat snails, but that's going to be pretty pricey in the long run, not practical.
You should look at your local grocery store in the meat department. They should have some sort of variety of raw fresh seafood, which would probably include lobster, shrimp, and clams or scallops. Unless you live in BFE.

haha yea I live in BFE, live near the mountains of the smokeys....the only seafood I see is the stuff in the freezers, nothing fresh, except I mihgt have seen the shrimp, but mostly anything else is flavored or spicy. ill look again, I just thought I could go ahead and order like 200 snails online, and it would make things easier
