Dogface VS Stars & strips puffer - Which should I get?

According to Marine Fish by scott michael a guinea fowl puffer gets about 20 inches long. And a dogface will get 13. My dogface was 8 after a year. It doesn't mention a stars and stripes but I always thought those were color morphed dogfaces.

Valentini puffers are quite small - 3-4 inches max usually.. beautiful fish though. I had one in my 55 before it became a reef.
Good info guys on the diff puffers. I'm still having a hard time choosing. I went to my LFS today - they had a variety - Striped Dogface, S&S puffer, Dogface, PP Puffer, Spiny boxfish...
I still think I'm b/w the striped and S&S.... just can't pick. His prices are great either: $39 for the S&S (not too bad), $47 for the Striped (a bit high for a 3in). Overall the price isn't a big issue though. Just wish I could choose!

If you're still debating on which one to get I'd def. go with a S & S puffer. I have both and with my experiences the ss puffer is a lot less aggressive and much more personable and doesn't eat cleaner shrimps like my dogface.
you have both the S&S and the striped dogface? Do they get along in the same tank?

Oh yeah, I had a striped dogface or aka fancy, dogface, and porky all in the same tank with no problems for about a year. I now have them in seperate tanks to make more room.

well, I'm leaning toward the S/S and maybe would think of adding the striped down the line... but probably just the S/S. I dunno... like em both.. but the S/S is a bit more colorful... I think that's the biggest thing making me lean that way.
