So I'm all set to build my sump and I go to the LFS and get a twenty gallon tank. I get home and it won't fit under the cabinet. Too close to the wall in back and no way thru the doors in front. Even Tim Allen knows "measure twice, cut once"!!!

woopsies. Now that you have the measurements you can look for a rubbermaid that will fit. I hope you can find another location for you new 20 gal tank.

Same problem when I went to build my fuge. A 10 gal wouldn't even fit thought the doors. So I took an 18 gal rubbermade and pushed it, bent it , and folded it untill in went in. ONLY do this with Rubbermade, an off-brand will not form back to its original shape and may tear and leak. HTH

I made the same mistake with my first home-made wet-dry/refugium/sump!
