For the elephant nose? Or the blenny?
I'd think the elephant nose would need to go in a 55 gallon with very passive tankmates, low ph, and subdued lighting.

Any update on this? Was the fish free swimming or more of a perching type? One of the LFS's around here had a 6" baracuda once but I'm hoping they didn't sell that.

Still searching, I am heading to my LFS this weekend and hope to find out what it was........
It was more of a free swimming fish, didn't seem to perch anywhere.....

Barracuda should not be kept in hobbyists tanks. I've worked with them in 40,000+ g tanks and they still bashed their "noses" into the glass. Terrible terrible terrible fish to try and keep in a home tank, though people buy them.

They would deffinately outgrow a hobbyist tank in no time. I think I've solved the mystery of the dolphin fish lookalike. Do an image search on "Flashing tilefish." That's my guess
It sorta looks like this...

Ive caught mahi mahi all my life and ive never seen one smaller than 2 feet. It would be almost impossible to keep one in a 40,000 tank. I would be amazed to find one in a lfs. If i did i would buy it and cook it. They taste so good!!!!!!!

Yes I know what you are talking about, I bought two of them in the mid 70's and havn't been able to find them again. They look just like 2" long mini dolphins. They stay under water but play with each other just like dolphins. Would so like to find them again. Please let me know if you get a name for them. They are not elephent nose fish.
