I have had just finished up my cycle and all my levels are at 0. I have four fish and a small cleaner crew in the tank. My lights are on for 9 hours a day. 2 power compacts and 1 MH. As soon as my cycle was about to end I started to get alot of green algae growth in my tank. It is all over my rock and glass. I will clean it off the glass and the next day it will be covered again. What is this caused from? What can I do?

I have a 55gal and use ro water with the specific water pressure it requires. (3 month old system). I too have the daily thin alge build up. Not diatom. And have a decent clean up crew.

Yeah I cant figure out what is causeing this problem. It has to be themost annoying thing ever. Do you have live rock and if so is that covered also.

cut your light time down a couple hrs if you dont have corals in your tank keep MH 's off they will just waste electricity.the only thing you have in your tank that will benefit from such high lighting is the algae.

if i heard you correctly this is a new tank just cycled, if so your fine this is normal and the algae will soon abate you may also start to see red slime growing this is also normal, you do need to cut back on the lighting, and be very careful with your feeding habits. Clean off the glass on the front and sides if you wish but leave the back glass untouched and your tank will be fine
