I just don't get it....My bta is now on the bottom of the tank looks upside down...It's in a bad spot, and all I could see is its red base....absolutely no way to get to it either. I guess I just have to wait and see if it comes out...If it dies I am in big trouble...I would have to tear down that whole side to get to it...

if its really dying maybe you can thread a 3/4 ID tubing back there and siphon it out. Make sure that the hose is long enough so you dont get a mouthful (YUK)

How much flow do you have?
I have a koralia 1, 2, & 3...A powersweep 228, magnum 350 canister filter with the spray outflow bar (I use it for flow mainly), a Cascade 1500 canister filter with spray outflow bar....and I just added a H.O.T. magnum (to run carbon)

Ok. Here are some of the problems. Looks like you were using tap before. It is a good idead to do weekly water changes with RO as you stated. Also you need much more flow. From my numbers you only have somewhere around 3000 gph. That is less then 14x turnover. You should have at least 30x (6750). These things along with what we discussed in your other thread will get you started in the right direction.

Do you mean the protein skimmer issue????
And yes I was using tap before, but that issue has been solved...

Hi, your friendly stalker here

I'm in, anything to help Meowzer. I thought the same way you are. What do you think is the problem, should be crystal clear. I think if we put our heads together we can help her solve this.

I was wondering where you were...LOL...The water has actually changed since the other day from the tint you said you noticed to a white cloudiness....doesn't that mean it's getting better?????

My conclusion is this:
Was using tap water (now using RO)
Needs much better skimming
Need much more flow

Yes. I would really look into a overflow and sump/fuge.
LOL..I was just looking at a site...WHEW!!!! MEGA BUCKS...I really have to fix it with what I have right now...I am thinking of having one (sump) put together for me, BUT I think that will be closer to spring...

So 1 out of 3 problems resolved, if I add more flow, and continue weekly water changes do you think that will work until I can afford a sump and overflow stuff.
