don't know anything about sponges

I have a few soft corals now but have never had sponges. I like the way some of them look so I have considered buying one and triyng it.
I currently have a 65gl with 96w white and actinic bulbs. It has been sufficient for star polyps, toadstool and zoo.
Any thoughts on sponges ? How easy are they ? Is my lightin sufficient ? Any need to feed ? etc, etc, etc

I hear that they like crabby-patties (sorry bad joke). First don't let them touch the air (instant death). They all like strong flow, they are a filter feeder. Depending on the type of sponge that you have will determine the amount of light that it needs. Try a Google search.

They tend to have a poor survival rate because somewhere along the supply chain (collector->wholesaler->retailer->you) they are mishandled and are exposed to air.

It seems it would be almost impossible to acclimate them propery without letting ANY air touch them. Unless you pore the water in the bag into your tank, which I don't ike to do
