I have a 12g tank and i want to start adding coral to it but i have no clue what to start with. this will be my first time with coral so i need something easy.

Zoanthids would be your best bet, very easy to take care of.

Definitely need to find out what kind of lights they are. That makes all the difference in determining what you can keep in there.

Look at the bulb/bulbs. It should either be two bulbs stuck together (power compact) or one larger strip bulb (T8).
How many switches do you have? Does it have a hood?
