Don't try this at home....

You guys will probably give me alot of grief about this but I had to share anyway...
So I've got this Jewel damsel in the 40g who decided all of a sudden to start terrorizing my redheaded solon fairy wrasse. Not Acceptable behavior!! The wrasse is even bigger than she is, but anyhow--I was mad enough to put her into the 100g and let her pick on those guys (you know a "see how it feels" kind of punishment) thinking she'd end up a snack and entertainment for the group--(large queen angel, picasso trigger, large purple tang, and a small (6 inch coral grouper) no, it's not national kill the damsel week :D but I was p'd off. Picasso could care a less, believe it or not till one of them runs smack into him, but the grouper stalks her. He can't seem to catch her though and believe it or not she actually will sneak up behind him nip, him and then go hide behind the queen angel. These guys are hysterical!! In all his efforts to get her, all he's gotten so far is into some trouble with the other large fish for bothering them. Anyway to shorten the story that was two days ago and she is not only alive, but actually even has the balls to show up at dinner dime with these guys. I have seen more of that grouper in the past 2 days than i have in the past 6 mos. (he's usually pretty boring except at supper time). My whole tank is non-stop action now. Very fun to watch. Anyway this just amazed me, so I thought I'd share. Sorry if I bored you, or worse offended anyone with my behavior which is admittedly evil

I'm amazed she has survived too....but I fear it's just a matter of time before the grouper gets her.
I'm not making the connection here...what is a jewel damsel?

Thanks for reading my boring story--I don't ever get to talk fish with anyone except you guys so sometimes I just gotta share :)
Anyway the Jewel is actually one of largest of the damsels reaching up to 8 inches (in the wild) She is a juvi now so she's almost navy with irradescent blue polka dots. If she lives, eventually she will actually turn boring dull yellow. She's about 2inches now. Ironically, even if the grouper does catch her he'd most likely choke on her and they'd both croak.

That was hardly a boring story!! :p
You know for some reason I keep thinking of a jewel cichlid.....this damsel sounds just as fiesty as one of those!
I'm gonna have to look the damsel up on the web, I still can't picture the fish but it sounds pretty cool! ;)
