Anemone's get their energy from the light from a symbiotic algea on their tentacles called zooxanthelae. The zooxanthelae are brown colored. Absence of the algea is called bleaching, where the anemone does not have the brown tint anymore. Your two anemones sound bleached to me. Anemones can, however, survive with inadequate lighting for some time, but usually would die much before a year has passed. Also with inadequate lighting out feedings must be stepped up to like 3-5 times a week for it to get the energy lost from the photosynthesis.
