bought a test kit for KH/GH, is that alkilinity test?
dont understand difference between dKH and KH, the readings dont match up up with some post i have read.
my test shows the KH to be 100 mg/L
all posts showed readings with a decimal point
do i need a different test kit, I am going to start dripping Kalk and heard that the alk needs to be right before you start
do I need something else?

make sure your test kit is for saltwater use. kh is carbonate hardness (alkalinity) ang gh is general hardness (measure of calcium and magnesium ion concentrations dissolved in water). test should show in parts per million(ppm). to covert this you multiply the dkh by 17.9. 1 drop from test equals 1 dkh or 17.9 ppm.

still dont understand, its a saltwater test for KH...it says multiply the total number of drops by ten to determine the general hardness in mg/L as calcium carbonate
Am I using the right test kit for testing alk?

there are two different directions for the same test kit. 1 set of directions to get the gh and another set of directions to get the kh. you want to read the directions for the kh test.

I understand that, if i make sure the KH is at 105-125 like the directions say then I will be ok?
dont understand what is dKH, will it be in range if my kh is in range?
