Dosing for coral?

Dosing for coral??? Do you mean feeding the tank...yes, I feed the tank phytoplex once each week. When that bottle is used up I may switch to coral frenzy, and when that is used up...or I find something interesting...I switch up again. But yes corals have to eat and skimmers clean everyting out.
Also, and ONLY when you have tests for it...I may have to dose for calcium, as some corals need it to build the skeleton. Same with iodine, but NEVER without testing.

You got it! Be careful not to overfeed...what feeds a coral feeds algae, if you overfeed you will get cyano or hair algae or both. So what type of coral are you looking to buy today?

Zoas and mushrooms are good starter coral. And you don't have to feed them. The will pull food from the water but mostly from your light. Coral have an symbiotic algae in them, tis what gives them color, and the algae photosynthesis just like any plant. Then the give off food that the coral eat.

Ive seen a lot of different opinions on how to acclimate coral, what is the best way that you have found?
I made an acclimation mistake once, lets just say ill never do that again!
I have always just temperature acclimated by floating the bag in the tank for 1/2 hour then take the coral out of the bag, discard the bag and water, and place the coral where you want it. I would encourage you to do some research into the procedure for dipping coral prior to placement in your tank also, this will help to ensure that no pests ride in with the coral.
