I used to dose kalk with one of those $20 Kent IV things, but just bought a refurbished medical peristaltic dosing pump for $59 deliverd that's just great!
Pros:
Pros:
- $59 delivered, $8 for the replacment tubes -every 6 months or so.
- 10 minutes to setup and get running
- Adjustable from 5 to 295 ml/hour - a few ounces up to 2 gallons a day
- Doesn't have to be above the tank or sump- stick the box anywhere and run the tubes
Makes no noise and uses about 5 watts
Cons:
- Can't use timer- it has a battery, and you have to push the power button to restart it. Either use it 24/7, or manually turn it on/off for night use.
Alarm- 5 minutes with a screwdriver and the snips took care of the audio alarm- I don't want to know my tube is clogged at 3:00am
