on my 90 i have a mag 9.5 and i the ball valve is turned 1/4 of the way. my tank is making a gruggling noise and its pretty loud. i dont want to restrict the pump too much more though...
now the question is, when i get the reef devil super skimmer which recomends a mag 7, can i put a 9.5 on the on the skimmer? would it preform better or worse? what differences would it make?
i wish i got a mag 7 instead of teh 9.5. i have like 7 feet of head too and it is gurggling like crazy...
also it is a aga with built in corner overflow box...thanks!

Have you tried to get rid of the sound. I have tried alot of things to quiet down my overflow. Doing a U pipe make a flushing sound. With out one makes a splashing sound. Very loud. What I did is drill the sides of a pvc pipe a bunch of times. Water only fills up 6 inches in my over flow. I Filled the overflow with bio balls and I caped the end of the pvc pipe. The end of my pvc pipe is not under water in the sump. Hope this helps. I tried many different ways a this was the best for me. I also would not use a mag 7. I had it for my 55 and it was perfect if it and not for a 90.

why wouldnt a 7 work on my 90? the way that i have my 9.5 set up right now, im sure it is working with the same power asa mag 7 becuase i have it restricted with a ball valve. ya i have tried to quiet it down by turning the ball valve down even more. and it worked. but i just dont want to put all that presure on the pump...
