TBH, I haven't had any problems with it at all. I actually really like it. Keeps the tank very clean.

if u use cheap carbon, then yes, phosphate can leak out. replace the carbon often even if its the premium brand. i run mine nowadays 1 week a month.

What is a good brand? I have been using marineland and i don't like it. It is on my QT. Any good brands??

+1 on the 1 week a month...I usually wait a day or two after the water change as well. WM Research makes a good activated carbon. Smaller the grain size the better, will give you more surface area which means more crap pulled out.
