Trates, you have to clean it regurally or it will build up with gunk. It can kill a tank. Sand is better because it lets micro organisms live within and keeps it clean.

if you have a good clean up crew will it held maintain the crushed coral

The top layer yes. But the bottom layers fill up with nasty deirtrus that cause the tank to later crash or run into problems.

i was going to try something new this time and use crushed coral tanks has finally established but i have already sifted all the coRAL OUT NOT ONLY IS IT HARD TO MAINTAIN it looks really
!,, on that note, i used 340lbs of live sand and then 40lbs of white sand very happy sofar!
