Downloading videos

Hm, that has to go directly from one person to another? I don't think that is what I want to do. Some I will probably just keep for myself. Others I may send. Is there another program? I am sorry to be difficult. There has to be something that allows me to download my videos onto my PC and then send them if I want to. Right?

Well yeah... you should have SOMETHING on your computer that will allow you to transfer it from your camera to your PC...
When you hook the cable up to the pc and camera and turn the camera on.. does a menu pop up? Maybe you can access the camera via "My Computer" and just drag the file onto your desktop.

Ah, well that shouldn't be any different I wouldn't think.
Just go to "My Computer" click on the drive the memory card is in to open it up, and drag the file(s) you want onto your desktop or into a folder. That should work... in theory.. :)

I clicked "copy to" and moved it to desktop. It says that the file cannot be read when I clicked on it to open.

Wow. This is way complicated and it shouldn't be.
What kind of file is it? What's the extension? .raw, .mpg, .wmv... etc.
What kind of video viewing software do you have? If you don't have any at all then that's probably what the problem is. Or maybe you can right click on the file, select "Open with.." and choose the program you want to watch it with.

It is THM I opened it in real player (the only program that will open it that I have). It is all choppy and sucks. Not to mention I get a windows " No disk" error..... It says " Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters ...........blah. That one I have to X out a zillion times. It is a pain and it still isn't woking right.

Video thumbnails are often created on digital video cameras and digital cameras that record video; THM files may or may not be transferred to the computer depending on what software is used to import the video; each THM file shares the same filename as the video clip it represents, i.e. "clip001.avi" and clip001.thm."
That's just the Thumbnail file for quick reference when you review what's on the disk. There should be an .avi file to accompany it. Or some other video extension...

Yes, it is AVI, sorry, I have been playing around with it. I can get them to play, but am not seeing a way to send them anywhere.

I have the program opened. It is quick player, I think, but there isn't options to do much other than open another file or save as favorite. It isn't like real player where you can choose to send it somewhere. Under file it has: New player, open movie in new player, Open URL in new player, Open recent, close, page set up, print, exit.

Ohhh yeah that one... ugh. Hated it. Dude this sucks.
You should be able to right click on the file itself and put it where you want that way. Otherwise, open the website AquaKnight pointed out to you and upload it from there.
Good luck, I gotta crash.

Sep, Since I am old school on computers let me ask you this, you are trying to transfer your files from your memory card to your computer and then watch them on your computer, correct?

Yes, but I want to be able to send them, or if I wanted to post one on here, I would like to be able to.

Photobucket will give you an error if the file is too big. If you have a yahoo account, I use Yahoo Video. It works well.

Well the first thing is to copy them from your memory card to your hard drive. I personally like to make the folders on my computer where I am going to put the files. I don't like the "my pictures" My videos" thing. But once you do copy them on your hard drive you should right click on the file name you want to open, it will give you a list of options. One should be "open with" Then you can open it with real Player if that is what works best on your computer.
Once the files are on your computer then you can upload them to something like photobucket or yahoo. However video are by nature very large files. If you want to make them smaller files then you would need some form of video editing software. Hopefully there is something that came with your camera.
Hopefully this helps a little bit.
