A friend of mine has a 55 gallon tank and her fish now have ick. She asked me to get on here and ask about her dragonette. Is it ok to put it in another tank to be quarantined or does it absolutely need rocks? Can anybody give me any info on this?

I have heard of Mandarins getting Ick but I have never actually seen it in person. I just don't believe they get ick.
If it were me I would remove all fish except the Mandarin. I would absolutely NOT treat the Mandarin with copper regardless what you decide.
It will do fine in Hypo until it starves though. You could buy Copepods to feed it during hypo.

Have ask question before, was told dragonettes have thick slim coating that protects them from ICH. However they can develope ICH in a heavily infested tank. Also advised not to QT,because of their dietary requirments.
