can coralline on once live rock come back to life even if its been dried out for a very long time??
the rock is thoroughly dried out, no smell, but the coralline algae on it is still bright purple.
can it come back to life and seed my tank? or will it just wither away?

It's dead. When exposed to saltwater again, it will bleach white and slowly dissolve back into the water.

unless its not really coraline I have been running into rocks lately that are dyed the color of coraline that unless you know what you are looking at you wouldnt know the difference of it and true coraline.
