Drilling a hole into AGA for bulkhead

I have an AGA and wanted to drill a hoe into side for bulkehead to turn it into a fuge.
I just talked to the local glass shop and they said that they would do it but that most aquariums were made of tempered glass and thus wouldn't be able to drill it without it shattering.
I am doing the side not the bottom.
Is this a problem and if it is can I do something about it?

Most tanks bottoms are tempered glass. BUT the sides are NOT... I have drilled my 120g in the side a 10g, 29g and I am drilling my 210g for a closed loop right now. IMO I think you will be ok... who is the tank made by?

what is this world coming to? lol jk. AGA's can be drilled on the side and backs. theyre not tempered there but on the bottom yes. all they have to do is make sure the bit stays cool. and that they take it easy is all.

good trick is to get the diamond bit take the carboard center of a ductape roll, take kalking and run it around the cardboard edge and press it on to the aquarium. let that dry them take anti freeze pour in the center it will be held there by the cardboard then just drill away just keep it supported and slow and you will get it done.
