Drilling Sump

I have a 90 gallon that I plan on drilling myself using a kit from glass-holes. I also recently picked up a cheap (on C-list) 55 gal tank that I am going to use as a sump. I figured I can practice drilling on that tank. Can I just use bulkheads for the drain line into the tank and the return line (or one or the other) since I will have these "practice holes"? (assuming of course I don't crack the tank!)
I plan on having a lid on the sump where possible to cut down on evaporation anyway.
Anything wrong w/ using bulkheads on sump?

there's nothing wrong w/ using bulkheads on a sump. i wouldn't put a lid on it, though. evaporation is a pain, but it's a good thing.
