After debating on what to do with my LR I finally broke it up and I am ready to add some animals. I plan on getting a scarlet cleaner shrimp and a Royal Gramma. Can I drip acclimate them together
After that I plan on sending the shrimp to the DT and the RG to my QT. Is this OK

I think you should definately acclimate them separately. If i am not mistaken, inverts and fish shouldnt be acclimated together.
Also, I think that technically speaking, anything wet that you add to the display can bring in a disease. That being said, I dont QT new corals or inverts, but do QT new fish.
I know that there are some people here who QT everything (even hermit shells). I guess its up to you to decide what you are willing to risk....
Hope that was moderately helpful

Have you watched the acclimation flash (on the left) from SWF.com?
I think this is where they say to separately acclimate fish and inverts, but multiple fish can be acclimated together.

Thanks Sac,
You are right on the money
Unfortunately I am sure I will only receive one styrofoam box

Yeah, you probably will only get the one. Save it for future use. In the meantime, do you have any extra buckets that you have used to mix saltwater or anything? If not, you could always go get one at home depot.

Steve anything you have that will hold around ½ gallon of water is fine also remember to cover what ever you are using while acclimating so your RG cant jump out good luck

Acclimate them separately. They will come bagged separately anyway. Inverts need to be acclimated for a longer period of time than fish do.

Thanks Joe,
I'll be hoping that I don't have the difficulties that you experienced with your RG's.

Sep,
Thanks for the advice. I did not realize that Inverts need a longer acclimation period. You're always there to provide excellent advice

Thanks to everyone

You will receive all in one box. Just got my order on Friday and only had one box. I went over to Walmart and bought a rubbermaid container to use for acclimating.

when I got my inverts and fish from SWF.com i acclimated them seperately. I let the urchins float around in my tank while i acclimated the fish in the styrofoam box. And then flipped them. everything lived and that was 2 months ago.
