Do your self a favor. Grow your own Phyto. There is nothing like it. I used DT and it was OK. You get better results when you have a fresh on hand supply.

I have be reef keeping for a bunch of years and I never had a problem. I do have my 90 loaded with LPS corals from top to bottom. Im not going to worry about over feeding when I have an awsome skimmer. Also Im a water change freak 5 to 10 gallons every day.

Do a google search on growing phyto. you will find every thing you need except you are going to need some one to supply you with 16oz of a single straing culture to get started. If you need some I can sell you a bottle to get started. I have about 20 gallons brewing all the time.

Really?? You change 5-10 gals every day? Wow.
I haven't been using the phytoplankton for my corals simply because in my tank, it seems to cause algae blooms...coincidence? IDK. Instead I've been turning my mechanical filters off and dosing with oyster eggs. I have to admit that I haven't been doing it regularly, but once or twice a week or so. I've really gotta get on a regular schedule with that...it's such an easy thing to do.

Thats' very impressive. I spend a lot of money on DTs for my LPSs. I think it's worth it, but if I could make my own... more money for LPSs! Thanks for the idea. :jumping:
