DT's vs Marine Snow?

One LFS tells me the use DT's the other says Marine Snow? What everyone's opinion? I started using DT's and my Nitrate's skyrocketed and I was told it was because DT's contains phosphates. Another question, should I leave the moonlights on for 4 hours or the whole time my main lights are off? Thanks all

Yeah - Do you want to eat fruits from the can or fruits from the garden?
Marinesnow is preserved phytoplankton. DT is live. Both contains phosphate for it exist in all living organisms. In addition, I believe Marinesnow contains phosphate as a perservative.

I've also heard that the directions on DT's tell you to use too much. My LFS guy said that the dose is fine but don't do it every other day like it says. 1-2 times a week max

I use a micture of DT's and Phytofeast live and love it. Doesnt do anything to my phosphate readings, and i feed usually 2x a week.

I love DT's, but not thrilled at all with MarineSnow, but it's personal preference
