dumb ? on tank set up

I got a dumb ? I have a 125 gal tank that is 72" long with a wet dry filter ..heres the ? how should I set the water flow out of the sump jet the water up across the top of the tank or down at a 45 deg. across the tank ? and also how much water movement should I have in a 125 gal tank ? It has a rio 2500 out of the sump and rio 600 in the tank ...

You want the flow around the tank to prevent dead spots where waste can collect. So it really depends on the tank itself. As far as the amount , depends what you want to keep. FO should be fine with about 10x tank volume per hour (1250 gph), LPS/softies are good for around 20x and SPS needs around 30x. I don't know about Rio's, what are the gph ratings 2500? and 600?. You must also calc head pressure for the return.

I would try to create a circular current. Placing one get on the opposite corner of the tank from the first.
