dumb question????

i have had my carbon bags in my sump for about 4 months is it time to change them?
how often are you supposed to change them?
could this cause a diatom breakout if they are not changed

I change mine every 2 months, IMO thats not the cause of a bloom , how old is your tank?

4 months old it has been running smooth with the exception of diatoms blooming
