I've had a duncan head for two months now. Latley, the last week or so, it is closed more than open. Does this mean it is crashing or is this normal. It seemed to be thriving before it started this. I have it in a place in the tank where it is getting medium to low lighting - should i move it to more intese lighting? Aslo what might I try feediing it. Any adive is greatly appreciated.

What type of lighting do you have? I have all mine on the bottom in about medium flow and they are closed up only after feeding. If you have strong lighting you may need to move it all the way to the bottom.

My tank is not very deep (72x18x20d). I have a 14K 175W MH in the center and 4 96W CF - the two along the back are actinics and the two in the front are 50/50s. It i positioned in the about 4" off the bottom of the tank on one end so that it doesn't realy get any MH lighting. It sees mostly the actinics.
I have never done any direct feedings with it so that is why I asked about what to feed it.

Sorry I missed the feeding part, I give them meaty stuff like mysis, cyclopeeze, even the home made food (fresh shrimp, clams, oysters, squid, mixture of additional powders, flakes etc. all mixed together). As long as what you are feeding it is not larger than the Duncan's mouth, you should be good.
