dusters with choc chip

I have a 55gal fowler w/ three choc chip stars & a sand sifting star. I was wondering if the choc chip stars would be the end of the feather duster(s). I also have a yellow tang, 1 damsel, two false perc clowns. Thanks in advance.

He might want to eat it ... But he will also have interest in the clowns and damsel as well, if he can get to them ...
Also ... Why do you have a tang in a 55? I have never had one, but I know everyone on this board will agree with me when I say, take the tang out of the 55 gallon and find a new home for him. They like tons of rock work and lots and lots of room to swim? Am I wrong?

Sooner or later the choc will eat the featherdusters. I had one and figured if I kept its belly full of krill, it would leave well enough be. He kept knocking over the dusters till one left it's tube. Soon thereafter lunch was served. I dumped the stars I had and went with a marble. The clowns and other fish will be o.k. though.

Way to many stars for a 55 gallon. With three CC I would think competition for food would be fierce, could be a problem down the road.
If you have live sand then the sand sifting star is depleting your sandbed of necessary pods and will eventually comprimise the health of the sandbed.

I don't have very much LR in the tank, so the tang has a lot of swimming room. Plus several fake plants give him hiding places, sort of like his own private lure course. As for the CC stars, I feed them chunks of shrimp or whatever seafood I have around to keep them from having to strictly scavenge, so I hope they can coexist well long term. As for the sand sifting star, it was more of a "i want a different star" on my wife's behalf, but I don't really care about my DSB that much. I am more worried he'll run out of food. WILL HE EAT brine and other food that gets to the bottom if it isn't picked up by something else first? With the light bio-load I am not sure the DSB wasn't a mistake to start with.
