Feeder fish are very much different than brine shrimp, in my opinion. Brine shrimp can be gut-loaded with nutritents and fed for a short period of time to finicky eaters while they are weaned to frozen foods. Brine shrimp will not harm your fish internally, and it can be a little beneficial if they are loaded with vitamins like Zoe, Selcon, and VitaChem.
Freshwater fish, on the other hand, are not only not nutritious, but dangerous to feed your fish because they will promote fatty liver disease. Freshwater fish are extremely high in fat, and this fat will start to build up on the liver and intestines of your fish to the point where the fish will no longer be able to digest foods properly.
However, you were right, ghost shrimp is your best bet at this point. You can soak the shrimp in vitamins so that at least they are a little nutritious to your lion.
What kind of lion is it? Eventually, you want to try weaning him over to krill, silversides, mysis shrimp, and meaty foods similiar to those.
