Dwarf Angels and Reefs...

I am not trying to argue with Kraylen, I just don't think what you've experienced is the norm and from what other people are saying just draw your own conclusion.

in a smaller system, maybe dwarf angels could do major damage. in a decent size reef, most dwarf angels r ok. like blt said, keep it well fed with a balance diet.

I don't know. I have really expensive "show quality" acans, SPS, LPS, it's all in there, they don't touch anything.

No offense, but I saw your thread and there was nothing "show quality" or LE looking in there at all.
I mean sure, you got some big stuff but when I'm talking about SPS that sells for $100 per 3/4", Chalice that got for $100+ an eye and Acans that sell for $100 a head, yeah it makes a big difference. You may not pay attention to your tank as much as I do but I notice when money is being messed with.
Like I said before, if you don't care about your corals or have a tank full of crap go for the Angelfish.

WOW. Did you stop and think that maybe I have more than one tank or that I haven't posted pictures of every little thing in my tank? I have acans that are $50+ a head and SPS that are $50+ for a 1/2 inch stalk. I've actually added a lot since I've taken pictures. For your information, I have rainbow acans, and personally think chalice looks horrible and is a waste of money. I looked at your tank and frankly, NOT IMPRESSED. So I guess it's all personal taste.
Whatever, honestly I don't need to defend my tank or knowledge in this hobby to you. The simple fact of the matter is, YOU'RE experience is not the norm, which can simple be seen just in this thread. People respect me on this forum and that is that. I'm not going to argue with someone that just wants to be rude and ignorant.

I work with what you give me, my apologies it seems I offended you. No need to get angry and flaunt your internet respect with me, just go look me up.
Also, the word you are looking for is YOUR... the word YOU'RE that you speak of is actually "YOU ARE" so your previous statement makes me disregard you and your opinions of this wonderful and intelligent hobby.
I was speaking from my own reefing experiences with angelfish and what not since I see it all the time. Then again, what do I know... my tank is horrible looking.

So now we pick apart tiny spelling errors? That's mature.
ANYWAYS...
All I did was say that your experience is not the norm in this hobby, as can simply be seen in this thread and numerous others throughout this forum and many other forums out there. There is always a slight risk when adding a dwarf angel to a reef setting, but if kept properly fed and provided established rock, the likelihood of one eating your coral is very, VERY tiny. Larger angels are far more of a risk.
I'm sorry you've had bad experiences, however I highly doubt that 7 were an issue without any other errors in their care going on. Not trying to attack you, BUT normally there is not an issue unless they are not cared for properly, and 7 just seems a little excessive to me.
As to the person who started this thread, draw your own conclusions from what people have posted here and on other threads. IMO, you'll be fine.

I'd like to have either a Coral Beauty or a Flame in time, and have read until my eyes bleed on this subject.
It seems that the definitive answer in this matter is the same as so many other aspects of this hobby:
"it depends".

yes definatly but heres my opinion if you keep a flame you wouldnt be able to keep a coral beuty and thier is some pros and cons with each fish like the coral beuty angelfish is pretty but you probaly couldnt keep them with corals and all that flame you can

I have both a Flame and a Coral Beauty in my 155G, they don't fight and they don't eat corals. The most important thing is to keep them well fed and make sure you have lots of LR for them to pick on.
