dying featherduster?

I bought a new soft tube feather duster last week, he didn't come out for about 3 days. Not he is almost 100% out, even with the lights on. I know he is still alive, because he reacts when I touch him with something. His tube is about 6 inches long, he is about 4.5 himself. He has no crown, looks like he shed it before I bought him, but its starting to come back. Is he dying or do the bigger dusters do this? I have a 3 inch green soft tube, and I've never seen his body, only his head and crown. Any help would be great.

Had a peppermint, think the lobster killed him. Now only have a skunk (scarlet) cleaner and the lobster, and about 4 hermits. Haven't seen them pick on him. I just though it was weird. I've never seen the body of a tube worm before, I'm going to snap a pic tonight and post it in the morning. Thanks.
