Anybody heard of E.D.T.A.?? Its suppost to remove copper from the tank, but will it remove it from the rock also?? I made a big booboo, well i was told to put in my tank, but anywayz i put copper in my tank and i was aslo told to use e.d.t.a to remove it. If it doesnt remove it from my rock its kinda pointless. Anybody have any luck w/ it? Will it hurt my Fish in the tank too??
Thanks
Mr Payton!

Never used it... Water changes will also remove copper. Buy a copper test kit and keep doing water changes until you get 0 copper.

Water changes and a strong carbon, like chemi-pure, is what I would use. Supposedly, chemi-pure removes copper from tanks (especially the new Chemi-Pure Plus that just came out for reef tanks).
What kind of copper did you use?

Absolutely. Puffers do not have scales, so they are extra sensitive. Luckily for you, coppersafe is much weaker. Water changes and copper will help a lot.

ya this pet store by my house sells it in powder form. I wonder if it will work. But ya I went to anouther petstore and this guy said polyfilter would rid the copper so i bought 2 pads. I also bought a tester my levers are .15 soo its not too bad. Well the tester is kinda hard to read so i think its .15.

EDTA will chelate copper, but it will also chelate calcium, and even more magnesium. I wouldn't use EDTA in a fish tank under any circumstances.
