I finished today.

Paperwork...
Congrats. From watching five 'men' recently obtain their Eagle Scout honors, I heard quite a bit from the parents how completing all the paperwork after the project is the hardest 'motivational part' of the procedure. A couple of the guys took almost 6 months to get everything written up and documented. Procrastination can bite you in the rear.

Just last year, I helped a couple of freind's of mine son's finish their Eagle Scout projects. There's actually five of them going through the ceremony next month. One of them built a handicap ramp at a local church, another built a octagonal deck for a church, and the last one built this 3-tiered rotated deck for a Cougar compound at a local Wild Habitat Sanctuary.
Bet it bugged you to no end to help a church..........after all, they are keeping you from your precious alcohol.

Well, from what I've heard procrastination isn't the big issue in completing paperwork. I think it has more to do with the fact that most people focus too much on the project at hand and don't record all the work they've done (I guess one could classify that as procrastination). That makes things hard. I kept a log and updated it every day. I have four pages of personal work and 11 pages of volunteer work.

Personal planning hours: 30 hours 30 minutes

Personal "carrying out" hours: 60 hours and 10 minutes

Volunteer hours: 409 hours and 48 minutes

Total: 500 hours and 28 minutes

I'm working on my expenses and donation letters now.

Which step in the 9 Step process are you at Darth? Actually, one of the kids I know that got his Eagle, installed a handicap ramp at one of our local churches. Another did a hexagonal deck at yet another church. In both cases, I was there for guidance and assistance. After we were done, we had a barbeque with BEER, Even invited the two pastors to come over and join us. One pastor preferred Guiness.
