Do a search there was a pretty long lived thread about the thing. In a nutshell all it is is pvc and magnets. And the stuff they claim is impossible.

I have no clue as to the science behind these, but I love them. I usally feel like the village idiot when the topic comes up; but I'm convinced they help my tanks considerably. Here's some reading:

Dear hobbyist ,I have 2 eco acqualizer's on my 150 gallon aquarium , my water is clear. Fish that are for experts only are easy to maintain .I've been using my units for nearly 3 yrs. .Everyone is entitled to their own opinion ,but as for me ,I enjoy using the eco acqualizer ,and as long as the product works, give it a try ,it can't hurt .

never tried it but followed the previous thread and it may be snake oil but it wont hurt your tank in any way so try it if you like
