i will be alright with 125 for several years..... as far as my zebra what do u wan t yours to do that mine is doing????if you want him to come out and play, feed in by hand for starters, but be careful they have strong jaws it hurts when they bite...(i know)
, but when you feed them by hand dont act timid be just as aggressive they will reconize that most likly and just take the food

Dude, I just handfed my Zebra, but it was scary. He took a few pieces out of my hand, but after about two, he came up and started sniffing my fingers, I was afraid he was going to bite them because they smelled like shrimp. I pulled back the first time and dropped the food, and he ate it, but the second time he did this, I didn't move, he sniffed my fingers, but then pulled back into his PVC pipe a little, but I dropped the food and he ate it. So it was half a success, my zebra and I both have to get used to it lol. After you said it hurts when they bite Doc, I was a little afraid, but your right, they may sniff your hand, but he didn't try biting it. :joy:
Also, my eel eats twice a day, everytime I try feeding the other fish he comes out looking for food, should I be feeding him this much?

I agree completely with the filtration. That is the key when you are taking care of something that large and eats that much. You will need to exceed the min. by far. Personally I am doubling my filtration.
Great pics by the way. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable when I put a zebra in my tank next.

I think mine is the coolest fish i have ever had and it is a MUST to have good filtration. I have 3 bio wheel 150's and 20 pounds of lr. He leaves a lot of poop on the substrate.

well look no one will tell you to do this but if you get a new born eel like a couple weeks old you might be able to house one for a year but i would not recamend it...... a snokflake is the only one i would say ok...... but you can try with the bigger one by getting a extremely young 1 as long as you plan to upgrade....eels grow extremely fast...... and the more oyu feed then the bigger they get

well lets just say the lfs by my place has had a green juvie in a 15 gallon tank for 6 months ........you did not here that from me though
Ps the guy lee that owns the store has had expierence with eels for 25 years and knows quite a bit about him...so it is not a question of "does he know what he is doing?" because he does
