Eel/shark problems

Hi my SF eel has been bothering my shark alot lately. It doesnt look like any damage has been done to either but i want to make sure nothing happens to either of them. Can they hurt each other right now?(they are both around 6-7 inches) I think im gonna return the eel and get something else. I thought that they could live with each other and that SFE were pretty docile?I guess it depends on each individual. Whatever goes by the eels rock where he sticks his head out he tries to bite..Any suggestions or should i just get rid of the eel..

my friend had a shark and an eel and he told me that his eel bit the shark because he was by some food and the shark died. I would get rid of the eel asap!!!!!!!!

How is he bothering the shark ? Is it charging out of his cave and attacking? or is he just defending his cave. From the pics of your tank, I personally would add more rock. Just so the eel has more places to hide. Morrays need plenty of hiding spots, they will move around from time to time till the find the perfect one. If it continues the SFE could stress the shark out.

well he kind of defends his ground..he opens his mouth and leans toward the shark when he passes his hiding spot.I dont know if u saw all the pics on my site but there is plenty of hiding spots for him and he dug out his home under and around the big rock in the middle of the tank..I just saw them swim right by each other and nothing happend.maybe its only when the shark is going towards the rock he hides under.

I think the SFE is defending his turf. They will attack it they feel their security or food is threatened. Mine has killed a couple fish for such trespasses. They are docile fish, but there are exceptions.

I second what irenicus said. Until you get bigger than a 55 this will continue. The eel will probably bite one day if the shark gets careless and one of them is going to end up wounded seriously probably.....

WOW.ok thats the first time anyone has mentioned keeping them by themselves. Of all the posts i have read about them i never once heard that. It looks like things are getting better but i might still bring the eel back friday.
