eel shopping

im am going to buy a zebra eel, but first i wanted to know what i should look for. i want to make sure he is heathy......if it is a he.

biggest thing to look for is to see if they are eating...if they arent dont get it, thats my 2 cents.

you really need to have your lfs put your eel some place that allows you to check the entire body for sores, scrapes and torn or infected fins. if you see any of these hold off on buying it untill it heals

I went back multiple times before buying mine. made sure he ate and body looked healthy.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but what does it mean if they're not eating?

it means their not eating...maby not adjusted too aquarium life or sick
