Eels bite hard

My friends mom has started her own fish store here in my town and I visit regularly. well yesterday she was trying to catch an eel and it jump out of its net to the floor, well she tried to pick it up and it bit her.. Sent her to the hospital. says it bit right down to the bone... she should have had stiches... so be careful, blind and dumb the thing still bites hard!!

Must of been a big moray ! I got tagged by mine last weekend , Hurt alot but didnt require stitches.

I got rid of my snowflake after he came out of the water and took a chunk out of my finger. Bled like hell. My ring saved most of the bite, but I also think it attracted him.
That was the end of him...back to lfs.

I think my jeweled eel would love to take a bite out of my hand. He goes balistic when I feed him.

Had a psychotic SFE that tried to eat all my fishes and would bite my tangs and puffer and all, I would feed him about 2 large pieces of krill per day when he was only 9 inches, and when I was trying to catch him with the net he jumped right out and bit me. the eel would not let go and I had to shake my hand off so he would let go.

What kind of eel was it that bit her?

When mine jumped out of the net, I used a sheet of paper, slid it underneath. I saw that beak on the snowflake and said, "I don't think I'm using my fingers."

I find it hard to believe a "pebble toothed" eel could bite to the bone . Bo

My zebra moray is about two and a half feet long, and has pebble teeth like a snowflake.......it takes several bites to even get through a piece of thawed shrimp.......it actually kind of chews through it even though shrimp exos are really not that tough.....soon as I saw it was a snowflake that supposedly sent her to the hospital.....I had to wonder too. The big thing with sharp toothed eels is the infections.....nasty stuff in their mouths. It seems I can actually tear the shrimp with my hands MUCH easier than my eel can bite through it. I'm not calling you a liar, it's just hard to believe. I have never been bit, so I am only guessing anyway.

I don't know if my sfe was a mutant then, 'cause the bite he gave me was like a glass cut, bled like crazy. The thing was a nut. The clincher was the day after he bit me he killed a healthy 6" Achilles Tang, swam around with it in his mouth.

she showed me the marsk sammy.. it did some damage, she tends to exaderate but, she did pass out and go to the hospital, her daughter tells me her finger is all swollen and purple now and she cant feel her finger... could that be from the nastys in the eels mouth...
