Egg-Crate Lid

I have egg-crate on top of my tank, as I heard is it better for gas exchange than a glass lid. My question is, do I have to worry about fish jumping between the grid? I had the unfortunate experience of having a Royal Gramma jump from my qt last month, but fixed that problem. I just want to make sure I don't have to worry about fish jumping from my dt.

I just got back from Home Dept. Found everything except the mesh. I'm going to make it anyway and of course, photos will follow.

I'll probably put mesh on top, just to be safe.
Maybe I'll even get fancy and build a wood frame for the egg-crate and mesh.

I was going to build a top with mesh screening but I got lazy. I also had a ton of left over egg crate so I stacked one piece of egg crate on top of the other in order to make 1 square in the egg crate into 4 squares. The holes are now only 1/4 of the size and harder and I would be surprised if they made it through. No fish lost yet going on 7+ months. I know this isnt a lot of time but yeah thats my experience.

Its there, they sell it in the gardening section they call it bird netting. I went in there asking for pond netting and they took me to some crazy stuff. But bird netting will work. Ill show you mine.
