Egg Crate / Lighting

I am thinking about taking off my two glass versa-top lids off my 72bow front aquarium and changing to egg crate. I get a lot of salt build up on the glass from condensation and I also think that my tank would be cooler (as i had a few heat issues this past summer). My concern is that once I put Egg Crate in I may have fish that get out and that my two t5 lighting systems will Melt the egg crate. Is that Possible? Any opinions or suggestions are welcome!!

I have eggcrate on all my tanks....including 3 250W metal halides.....it will not melt it....

depending on what fish you have, thought, they may get thru it.....I have lost a wrasse, a firefish, and a goby thru eggcrate

Depending how close the lights are to the egg crate it can melt it. MH's have melted cross braces on tanks before so yes it would be possible.
