so one of my clowns likes to jump ship i have picked him off the floor 3 times now and i just got a BI color blenny! and i know they tend to jump as well ! so i went ahead and made a 2 piece lid for the tank ! i'll post pics once my camera charges up ! but my question is it seems to block the light, is there any ill effects for using a egg crate lid for my corals?

Some say that they don't block any of the light, but I believe they do. After all, they are technically called "light diffusers" and are found in the lighting section at the hardware stores. But if you have a jumper, I still prefer eggcrate over glass tops.

They definitely block some light, but I'd not change my setup because of it! It's not THAT bad.

Could just be the pic, but that looks like a decent size gap there in the front right corner. If so, I'd put a rock on it or something. If there's a way out, they will see it and find it if they want out.
