I bought an "Electric" Flame Scallop, that is really sweet, It hase blue lines going around the edge, What to they require for feeding? I was told to get as close as i can and squirt Live phytoplankton at it, Has anyone else kept this scallop before, or a normal Flame Scallop with sucsess? If so maybe a pic?

Yup, just squirt some phyto into it, doesn't have to be live phyto though. They can starve very easily without proper feedings. Here's a pic of my flame scallops, not electrics.

I had an electric flame scallop and never had to feed it and it was fine. But it died after around 3 or 4 months, maybe thats why. I will probably get another 1 there great and I'll maybe even feed it this thime

The most common cause of death is slow starvation.....I guess if you dosed phyto into your tank it would live that long

i also had an electric flame. now gone. i dosed regularly with DT's but he still died after about 3 months. they are fun to watch move around and for only 10$ it's worth it.

They like dark caves.
It typically takes 3 - 6 months for them to starve. If you've kept one for a year then you've got something in your tank that they can eat.
Typically, commercially grown Phytoplankton is not on their menu.

What would be their food of choice, then? Or better yet, what commercially available food *is* on their menu?
If they dont have too specialized diet/care needs, I may add one to the tank also.

Brittle stars have been known to go after an easy meal...be it fish, shrimp or in your case a flame scallop. He might not even have been eating it but instead maybe just checking it out. I know its frustrating when two species which are supposed to coexist safely have problems...but this is what happens in our hobby as you wrote.
