Whay would a green emerald crabs shell turn white?

Besides the obvious---it's sick. Could it be getting ready to molt?

When I got mine in the mail one was a little white. He died the next day. Others survived fine though.

I have had 3 emeralds in my tank. All were a bit white, and all survived.

He has been a bit white for a while and appears to be healthy.
Viper, did yours ever regain its green color or stay white??

I purchased 6 emeralds from this site. I've had them for 3 months. Two of them stayed green, 4 of them turned whiteish. One of the green ones is a monster, the other green one grew a little, and the white ones haven't grown much.
I'm not really sure why some are white and the others are green. I've had a few white ones molt so Im guessing thats why they are white...but 4 of them have been white for a few months now...maybe they are just really enjoying the excess algae I have....
