I have an emrald and it is very peaceful. Your cleaner is probably to fast for it anyway. Mine is in with a coral banded and peppermint shrimp. It stays in the hole of one of my rocks and really only comes out at night. It also depends on the idividual, but I would say you would be ok. The crab would also be ok in the fuge, you may want to put some live rock in there so it can hide, some will stay on the same rock and not even go on the sand or CC so you may be able to control what it eats. Hope that helps!

I have also heard about their agression that is why I am cautious and doing a little research because I really like my shrimp. Also I have about 5lbs of LR in my fuge and the thing is FULL of Calurpa. when my cheato comes in will the emeral also eat off of the cheato?
One last thing if I put a small amount of calurpa on some lr in my tank will the Emerald keep it in check or will I have to still harvest it so it dont take over my tank.
Thanks for all the info

I have two and Yes, he will eat your macro algae. Lots of it. He wont bother your cleaner shrimp though. I have mine with a sexy shrimp, a skunk cleaner, and fire shrimp, and a peppermint with no problems at all.

Maybe it's hit or miss with emeralds but I have two along with two cleaners, 3 sexys, 1 peppermint, 2 pistols and 1 coral banded and I have never seen them be aggressive. Actually quite the opposite and one of my emeralds is rather big but seems to be a big baby. I have seen him and other shrimp eating side by side. Now I have never seen the two emeralds together. Maybe they want their space.

I have 3 emaralds and I like them alot. They never really bother anything. One of them plays with my firefish golbies, he comes out from under the rock, that the crab and the gobies share, and pinches at them. I think both the crab and the gobies like this little game they play, because like I mentioned they share this rock and the gobies go back and forth doing this sometimes. However I did have a coral banded skrimp that got a hold of a clown fish and killed it. I got rid of the skrimp and have had no other fish die or get killed. The emeralds also do not bother anything else in my tank(inverts). Hope that you enjoy yours as much as i enjoy mine.Good luck. Oh yea I
came in the other day and 2 of them were bumping nasty's
