Emerald crabs(colors)

My lfs sold me 3 emerald crabs, 1 was green and 2 were red. I thought all Emeralds were green. Does anyone have any red ones?

sounds to me .. you may have received a couple of hawian strawberry crabs in your bag (those would be the red ones ) i have one in my tank its about 2 years old and has not bothered a thing that i know of.

i too have a hawiian strawberry crab beautifull but to this day i have never seen him out of his hole. he was very agressive but has settled down

Is the crab bright red or more of a dull reddish brown. The reason I ask is strawberry crabs usually cost more than emeralds. If it's more of the dull redish brown it is probably Mithraculus forceps, which is very similar to the emerald. They might get a little bigger and some of the ones I've come across seem to be a little more aggresive.
