Emerald Crabs

I have a question about Emerald Crabs...I am considering getting one. I have 2 cleaner shrimp already and am curious if it is safe to add the crab. I have read that they can be a bit aggressive. I don't want to add one if he is going to mess with any of my shrimps or fish. I have 2 false percs, 1 coral beauty and a midas blenny.
Thoughts?

I have never added them but a friend of mine has had two for about 3 months. They finally got big enough and went agro. Now he's having a tough time getting them out. They have only killed snails though. It's always a risk IMO.

I have two cleaner shrimp, three emerald crabs, nassarius snails, and cerith snails. They have been doing well together for four months now. I do have a 125 gallon tank though, so everyone has plenty of room. With that said though, I have seen my emerald crab fight with a nassarius snail, and the snail won!

Edit: My Emerlads did a fabulous job on my hair and bubble algea when I first set my tank up, so they are staying unless they start going crazy.

Golgi, I have a 55g, I have one cleaner and two emeralds. I have not had a problem yet. I don't think the emerald could ever catch the shrimp, even if it wanted to. Hope this helps, good luck.

I have three emeralds in a 55 and have never had any problems. I have two that are small, and the third is getting huge! They are pretty neat crabs.

I have a pair of emerald crabs in two of my tanks. 120gal & 24 gal. Neither has ever bothered any of the shrimp, fish snails or small hermit crabs. Occasionally the crabs will take a swipe at a fish if they get to close. But never really look as if they are trying to catch one, more of a reactive move.

I have had several in my 55 for quite some time. I cant imagine having any problems with them. They are very slow, and even the one that has grown very large has been anything but aggressive. They are rumored to take care of bubble algae. I had bubble algae and aiptasia in my tank, and they hammered the aiptasia... I couldnt believe it! Didnt touch the bubble algae though.

Make sure you get one thats not too big and you shouldn't have trouble. I had a huge one kill a damsel and would kill Nassarius snails.

I have an emerald crab as well, with a few hermits, one or two snails (the hermits are killing them), a peppermint shrimp, and a few damsels and they all get along with the crab fine. I have a 30 gallon FOWLR.

I had 4 in my 215 but recently lost one.... not sure if it died or molted. The good news I do not have any issues with these guys.

I have two very large ones, their bodies are about the size of half dollar coins in a ten gallon and the only problem i have ever had is that some times they walk over my jaw fishes holes
