emerald crabs

I thought emerald crabs were suppose to be hardy. I have a 200 gallon reef thats been doing fine for a year. I put about six emerald crabs in there and most of them died. No nitrate problems or anythings else I can think of. Any idea why these crabs don't make it in my tank?

How much alae do you have for them to eat?
IME it is real easy to starve them.

By no means an expert... but, I think the rule is 1 per 20g of water.
But i have a 26g with 1 very small emerald crab, and he takes care of EVERYTHING except the glass. He even goes after the fish that have flake food hanging out of their mouths.
He always seems half starved.

I have (had) two emarlds in my 50. I haven't seen either for several weeks. Never did see them very regularly. I have heard they are mostly nocturnal - anyone know if that is true or maybe mine are just gone.

I have 3 in my 55 and at first they were strictly nocturnal but now I see them out and munching at all hours.

I have 2 in my 55 and they seem to be out getting there grub on day and night. They do tend to hide when my fish are really active. Their shy
