Emergency Help Needed

Ok, this is a long story that I will post after I start getting some responses when I can get more time but to make a long story short-- I obtained a yellow tang about 4 inches that was in a fedex box all weekend until today. He is alive but I am not sure what I can do to help him-- he was almost red when the box was opened-- now in my QT he is yellow again but cant seem to stay upright. He has fast breathing. Is there anything but time I should/can do to help him along.. Like I said-- I will explain later but I wanted to get this up asap....
thankssss

Keep the lights off in the QT but add just a bit of room light or, better just natural day light that filters in the room. Try not to make sudden movements around the tank.
There is not much you can do right now. Its wait and see. Don't bother feeding until you see if the fish is a bit responsive.

First tyvm Beth, that is kind of what I was thinking but wanted to confirm myself.
Ok, now for what happened. My fiance's sister works for fedex. Today she called to say that there was a package there that had gotten held up in another city over the weekend( I am guessing from thoses big storms) and had arrived at there depot smelling. It turns out it was a fish delivery for a LFS and with the extra time in box they were just going to damage it out.(yup just throw it away) Anyway, so she looked inside knowing I keep saltwater and saw several of the fish were still alive!! Thats Friday-Tuesday in seperate bags in the box. This is the list of fish in the box and which ones survived.
Harlequin Tusk(1)--DOA
Heniochus Butterfly(3)--1 alive
Yellow tang(1)--1 alive
Purple Basslet(4)-- 3 alive
Valentini Puffer(3)-- 1 live
Twinspot Goby(3)-- 3 alive http://www.peteducation.com/article....articleid=2088
Now, my problem is figuring out what mix I can do this that will help these guys out. I have a 75 salt and a 24 pod salt. Right now they are all in QT with my baby naso I had just purchased yesterday and seem to be happy--but I know not for long, at least the gobies need to be separated.
Wow, I just hope I can help them all survive... I may need a home for the tang though if he pulls through-- I already have one a bit smaller than him im my dt and dont want to cause an issue...

You can set up QTs using rubbermaid containers, if that would help. How big is your QT?

Rubber maid containers will work. It will be difficult to observe them though. Be sure to keep the water parameters pristine. I am sure that they suffered some damage after that long in the bags.

I only had a 10 set up because I wasnt expecting an influx like this. I just got another 20 gallon that I am right now filling in from my DT so by tomorrow I can spread out the new tankmates. Because of size, the tang will obviously go in the 20 and the smaller fish will just be spread out.

I am not attempting to flame you at all, but am curious, why did you order so many fish with only a ten gallon QT?

Oh my gosh nooo, this wasnt MY order... I thought I explained that, it was an order for a LFS that went badley awry... I would/could never do that and would expect the flame if so..

Oh btw, am I correct about the tang compatability?
The yellow will get along with the Naso, but your tank is not large enough for both for a long period of time.

I am very sorry, I missed that part. So you got all of this stock for free that they were going to throw away? Well, let's try to save these guys. Add a few small pieces of rock into these QT's and/or bins, to help with biological filtration. If I were you, I would be certain to have the tangs in tanks. They are the most likely to have ich, and you do not want to infect your display.

Yeah, all the fish are separate from the DT. All the fish were going to be thrown away because fedex at that point didnt have a place to deliver and they only knew any were still alive because she took the extra step to open it

Well, that is lucky for you and for the fish. Hopefully you can save most of them

Someone should call PETA on that store.
There may even be some state violations regarding that.

Unfortunately I think mother nature was the cause of the problem. It wasnt the store that told fedex to discard it. The package was either lost or delayed from the storms around here I think to the point that everything seems to have gotten crossed. By all means I am not trying to take away blame but I am not sure that I could figure who should be held accountable here either :(
As far as an update.. The tang and one pseudo didnt make it...
