Tell me if you think this would work in an emergancy. A 10 gal tank ($10) Small powerhead($15) Sponge filter stuck on the bottom of the Powerhead ($4) Cheap lid ($25) Instant hospital tank. Evrything at Walmart,or Meyers. All for about 50 bucks. Take the water out of the main tank and throw the fish in. Whatya think?????????? STEVE

I get all my fish at *****, and my friend gives me free ones too, even if they aren't sick, but I honestly haven't had very much luck keeping the sick ones healthy. I hope that you have much better luck!!!!

As most of you already know,I have a 40gal that I'm using for a hosp. I had mentioned in another post that it could be "inexpencive" With this idea in mind. Just wasn't sure it would work. And yes SAMMY,a 20 would be better,But thats another ten bucks,or more. And the powerhead filter may not be enough. The main idea here is to be setup really fast and cheeeeep..STEVE

Works for me--
lovethesalt--why would you WANT a sick fish full of parasites?????
My ***** doesn't even carry salt, let alone saltwaterfish, they say there's no money in it as they are "impossible to keep".

I use one of those Eclipse 3 gals for a q-tank...$40 and its ready to go...
luckily i have no sick fish so im growing xenia in it on an extra piece of live rock I had...makes it easy to get to with out disturbing big tank creatures and if i need to hosp a fish I can just move the rock to the main tank..
....rick....

Wal mart Supercenter near me has an eclipse style top called Regent, for a 10 gal for 59.99? It might work better than the powerhead/filter combo? Dunno if you have one near you?
